Funding

We try to give below some organisations who are able to offer grants and funding opportunities for the provision of play equipment and buildings and are therefore very much worth approaching

Fundraising Skills

Fundraising Skills is an award winning e-learning organisation providing short accredited online courses to charities, schools and the healthcare sector. The Certificate in School Fundraising is a 6 week, internet-based, accredited course for busy bursars, business managers and school administrators.

Participants learn how to increase resources for their school, its pupils, parents and the wider community. The course introduces case studies and examples of lottery and charitable trust applications to show you:

Students follow proven techniques and work closely with an experienced tutor to produce a letter to a grant making trust and a school fundraising strategy.

Courses run online 6 times a year and fees are normally £395, this includes course materials, tutor support and accreditation with the Open College Network. However, throughout 2008 all new and existing Timberline customers qualify for an additional 15% discount. To take advantage of this offer please contact Louise Germaney, Course Leader at info@fundraisingskills.co.uk or 0191 2755042, or enrol online at http://www.fundraisingskills.co.uk/ and quote timber08 when asked to enter details of how you heard about the course.

Playground Partnerships Awards

The Woolworth's charity Kids First is inviting primary and special schools to apply for funding through its Playground Partnerships Awards. They are keen to provide differing levels of support, from schools with playgrounds merely requiring finishing touches, to larger playgrounds needing extensive facelifts, and therefore, different sized awards are available. The total fund budget for 2007 is £500,000, and schools can apply for individual awards of £1,000, £2,000, £5,000 or £10,000. All short listed schools will recieve at least £250. All applicants will recieve a free resource pack, which provides a complete guide to the application process plus a range of exciting activities to engage the children in real life learning across the whole school curriculum.

The Royal Bank of Scotland - Supergrounds scheme

The Royal Bank of Scotland operates an employee sponsored fund operated by Learning though Landscapes. The funding is to a maximum of £4000 for playground improvements. A school has to be nominated for funding by an employee of The Royal Bank of Scotland.
