About us

Timberline is a family owned, British manufacturing company.

Originally established in 1993, the company has signficantly grown since its early, humble beginnings. Tony Fearnehough originally set up the company as a means of supplying his wife's nursery school and as the business rapidly expanded, he was soon joined by his two sons Simon and Richard. The company is still 100% owned by the Fearnehough family and operates from a manufacturing facility in Chesterfield, Derbyshire employing over 100 people. We do not outsource any production or installation work and never intend to.

Our product range has become ever more extensive and as well as our traditional play equipment offering, we now produce outdoor buildings which cater for different needs for different markets. Our core business is within the educational market. These include all age-range schools and nurseries both state and private, children's centres, public access parks, local authorities and play groups. But we also have a large customer base in the commercial market of holiday parks, visitor centres, pubs, hotels, care homes, garden centres, theme parks, hospitals, hospices and golf clubs.

These past years, our turnover has increased significantly. Undoubtedly our business has expanded but the one thing that we have retained in its original form many years ago was the determination by the three owners to keep directly in touch with our customers and always put their needs first.
